I love, love, love this. Actually teared up reading it. Isn't it amazing how small, even brief encounters can completely resurrect your day and your self? I love Staff Sergeant B...who he is and all he had to say. His admonitions. Isn't it funny how his honesty and transparency comes across as brave? Moreover, being clear about what you love feels risky when you're unsure that you can even have it (or doubt that your Life Setup can support that dream?). And I identify with feeling that it's "too late." But, no one can stop you from loving Said Thing, right? Anyway, this was a really beautiful piece of writing, Caroline. Thank you.

We were made to live wild and free as cliché as it sounds. Mentally, spiritually, physically.

Free.

This one brought tears to my eyes!! Partly because it is sad and reflective, but it ends up as a happy piece that lets us see how good God is to us, how He cares for us. I could picture the boys up on top of the horses and enjoying themselves. So glad you went back for them. It is just another little "tile" in the pieces of who they are and who knows if they will remember. I'm betting, "Yes!!" The horses didn't "happen" to be there when you arrived; they were waiting on you!!

Keep the storied coming. They get better and better. Love you!
